Chef Chat (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application, Chef Chat.

1. Information We Collect

Chat & Recipe Data
- The text of your messages and the recipes generated by the AI.
- Stored on our servers to improve functionality and for analytics.
Device & Log Data
- Device identifiers (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS when permitted), IP address, device model, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and usage metrics (e.g., session lengths, pages viewed).
Dietary Preferences
- Any dietary restrictions or preferences you provide (e.g., “gluten-free,” “vegetarian”), stored locally and on our servers to tailor recipe generation.
No Personal Identifiers
- We do not collect your name, email address, or other personal identifiers unless you explicitly provide them (e.g., via an in-app feedback form).

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide & Improve Service. To generate recipes, maintain chat history, and enhance application performance.
Analytics. To understand usage patterns, optimize our UI/UX, and diagnose errors.
Personalization. To respect your dietary preferences when generating recipe recommendations.

3. Advertising & Analytics

We use third-party services to support the app and deliver ads:

Google AdMob
- May collect device identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device model, OS version, app interactions, and ad performance metrics.

No Personal Data Sold. We do not sell your personal information.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS).
If you install Chef Chat on iOS and you decline tracking in the AppTrackingTransparency prompt, we will not serve you personalized ads. You may manage tracking permissions at any time in your device’s Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

4. Data Retention

Chat & Recipe Data. Retained on our servers to provide continuity of service and for analytics.
Device & Log Data. Retained as needed to diagnose issues and improve performance.

5. Your Choices & Rights

Opt-Out of Personalized Ads.
- On iOS: Disable tracking in Settings → Privacy → Tracking.
- On Android: Use your device’s advertising settings to limit Ad ID usage.
Access & Deletion.
- Although Chef Chat does not collect your name or email by default, you can request a copy of your chat and recipe data or have it permanently deleted by emailing us at privacy@galligo.com. We will respond within 30 days.
No Account Required.
- You may use the app without creating an account. All data is tied to your device and stored anonymously.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure; please use the app at your own risk.

7. Children’s Privacy

Chef Chat is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at privacy@galligo.com and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect when changes occur. Continued use of Chef Chat after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
